Love this!! This was a great read that helped inject some hope and joy into the idea of activism and change, which is a nice change from the doom and gloom of modern day activism
So well put! Yesterday evening I met with a group of women in the park for a bit of what we are calling a modern salon. Our focus topic was how to engage in thoughtful conversation with people we disagree with. The purpose was basically what you wrote about in regard to collective imagination.
It was quite lovely! Highly recommend getting a group of people together like this for anyone looking for a place to get started with engaging in more collective imagination.
Picnics in the park + thoughtful conversations are some of the things I love most, so I'm definitely going to consider how I can bring this into my own life. Thanks so much for sharing
This is obviously easier said than done, but the biggest thing that came up was practicing the ability to slow down enough where you can actually listen to the words the other person is saying. Then respond to that instead of coming from a place of defending your identity. We also reflected on if there was anything we had ever changed our minds about.

(I'd also love to hear any insights that came from your discussion! Healthy disagreeability is something I've been thinking about a lot lately) π©·
